What does Ceereo do?+

Will my PDF look different after the fix?+
No. Everything Ceereo adds is invisible structure. Every remediated file is rendered before and after and compared pixel by pixel, and the result is shown to you — visual identity is a guarantee, not a hope.
What is a tagged PDF, and why does it matter?+
A tagged PDF carries a hidden outline — headings, paragraphs, tables, figures in reading order — that assistive technology navigates. Without it a screen reader only sees the raw order the ink was drawn in, so columns interleave and page numbers interrupt sentences. “Document is not tagged” is the single most common accessibility failure, and it is the foundation every other fix depends on.
Does a passing result mean I am legally compliant?+
It means your file passes automated PDF/UA verification — the same class of checks compliance scanners and procurement intake run first, and the ones a complaint will cite. Full legal conformance also involves human-judgment criteria, so we state exactly what the report proves and never claim more.
Which laws does this help with?+
The same technical layer underlies all of them: ADA Title II in the US (compliance dates now April 26, 2027 for entities of 50,000+ and April 26, 2028 for smaller entities, after the DOJ's April 2026 extension), Section 508 for federal agencies and their vendors, and the European Accessibility Act, which has applied since June 2025 to consumer-facing services and covers the invoices, statements, contracts and manuals inside them.
Do I need an account to check a PDF?+
No. The audit is free and needs no signup — you see every finding, the score, and a simulated preview of how the document reads. Payment applies only to the remediated file.
What PDFs are not supported?+
Scanned documents (pages that are pictures of text) need OCR, and interactive forms need field labelling — neither is supported yet, and both are detected and declined clearly rather than processed badly. Ceereo handles born-digital PDFs: reports, policies, invoices, manuals, exported slides.
How is this different from a free accessibility checker?+
Free checkers tell you what is broken — they are lead magnets for enterprise software or per-page human services. Ceereo audits for free too, and then actually produces the fixed file, verified and visually identical, at a flat per-document price.
How does the price compare to a remediation service?+
